Your paradise planning starts here! Below are a few questions that will help you generate ideas and will help make your back yard paradise the envy of the neighborhood.

1. Where do you want to put your paradise? Consider marking out the area with flags to give yourself a visual reference of the layout before making any final decisions.

2. What is the primary function of your pool? Will your pool be used mainly for swimming laps, playing watersports, diving, or just splashing around? Determining the main use of your pool will help determine the depth, shape, and type of pool that will best suit your needs.

3. Do you want an integrated paradise or separate areas for kids and adults?

4. Where do you want to house your pool equipment (pumps, controls, filters,etc.)? Will you store these items in an existing structure on your property, would you like to have a customized structure built, or would a portable building suit your needs? There are many options available from which you can choose.

5. What do you envision for your pool deck? Should this area be the standard size (4 X 8 feet surrounding the pool), or would you like to expand the useful area? What type of material would you like for your decking: brushed concrete, stained concrete, pebbled, or another type of material?

6. Do you have pets that you will allow in your pool? Pets are an important part of our daily lives and their presence in the pool (whether welcomed or unintended) should be considered.

7. Will you require fencing around your paradise? What is the main purpose of fencing around the pool: decorative, to add privacy, to keep unwelcome guests at bay?
